Everclear 2013April 13 at 8pm - Tickets $29.95 Treat yourself to the emotionally-charged sound of Everclear when the seminal band performs live at The Cannery Casino Hotel on Saturday, April 13. Led by acclaimed singer and guitarist Art Alexakis, the Portland, Oregon group has scored several top hits inspired by personal challenges and hardship.

Starting in the 90's, the group has produced such touching hits as, "Father of Mine," "Wonderful," "I Will Buy You A New Life," "Santa Monica," "AM Radio," "Volvo Driving Soccer Moms," and many more.

The group, which formed in 1992, was initially known by other names, such as Colorfinger, but settled on the name Everlcear after the infamous grain alcohol. In an interview, Alexakis reportedly called it "pure, white evil for its deceptive nature."

The band earned a 1998 Grammy nomination for best rock instrumental from their successful album "So Much For The Afterglow." Later that same year, Everclear was named Modern Rock Band of the Year by Billboard.

Alexakis often drew on his difficult childhood as inspiration for his song writing. He grew up without a father figure and overcame personal challenges, including drug use and depression. The songs filled the airwaves and resonated with a younger audience.
