Our VP of Compliance, Ryan Toland, recently volunteered at the Convair Water Ski Club, Blind Ski Clinic in San Diego. They provide the blind with an opportunity to participate in the fun and exhilarating sport of water skiing!
The Blind Ski program is currently celebrating 50 years of serving the community. It started in 1963 by Santo Lo Presto, a decorated World War II hero. The mission of Blind Ski is to make sure that those without sight can still enjoy water sports and the thrill of the outdoors. This program is always in need of volunteers to assist blind participants with getting into their gear, or serving lunch after events. So if you're looking to give back, follow Ryan Toland’s example and lend a hand to Blind Ski!
Ryan Toland has worked at Cannery Casino Resorts for 10 years and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Regulatory Gaming Compliance for the Company. Ryan is originally from Minnesota and Iowa and has lived in Las Vegas for 14 years. He grew up waterskiing and enjoys spending as much time on the water as possible.
San Diego's Mission Bay is a perfect waterski site for teaching the Blind Waterski Students how to waterski, and it is a very rewarding experience for everyone involved. We hope that you can make it out to the next Blind Ski events for 2013, which are scheduled for Saturdays on June 29th, July 27th, August 17th and Sept 21st.
