Cannery Casino & Hotel will host a five-day celebration for Cinco de Mayo with a Cinco de Macho celebration including music, food, beverages and some macho man contests to add to the fun.
Starting on Thursday, May 1, 2014 and ending on Monday, May 5, 2014 festivities will include:
Gloria Trevi, the VH1 deemed "Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop," is set to perform in The Club at the Cannery Casino & Hotel at 2121 East Craig Road in North Las Vegas at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2014.
Consistently at the top of the Billboard Latin charts, Gloria Trevi has sold more than 20 million records with hits like “Dr. Psiquiatra,” “Zapatos Viejos,” and “La papa sin catsup.” She was recognized as the Premios Lo Nuestro 2009 Female Artist of the Year and the 2009 Latin Billboard Awards Pop Airplay Feminine Theme Year.
Often outspoken in her music, Trevi addresses issues such as religion, prostitution, drug trafficking, hunger, upper class, and war deaths and challenges Mexican machismo on stage with her sensual performances. Adored by Mexican and Latin American girls who often dress like her Trevi has been likened to a Mexican Madonna.
Cannery Casino & Hotel will host an original Beauty and the Beast Motorcycle Contest in conjunction with 97.1 The Point in support of the Save the Boobs Poker Run to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative on Friday, April 4th at 4:30pm.
Contestants enter their bike in a motorcycle beauty pageant to win up to $500 CASH, concert tickets, staycations, movie tickets, or hotel packages. Steph from The Point’s Foxx & Mackenzie in the Morning show will be on premise to add to the fun. Judging will take place at 6pm.
In addition to the contest, the fundraiser will include food (ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, onion rings), beverages and a concert by rock and roll tribute band Motley 2 at 8pm.
