LAS VEGAS, Nev. — June 11, 2013 — Galaxy Cannery Theatres, located at Cannery Casino & Hotel in North Las Vegas, recently added Dolby® Atmos™ to its exclusive Digital Fusion Experience (DFX) auditorium which will open with the midnight showing of Man of Steel on Friday, June 14. The Galaxy Cannery Theatres DFX auditorium, which features a wall to wall and floor to ceiling 65 ft. screen, is now the largest Dolby Atmos location in Las Vegas; providing a powerful new listening experience to the 500 seat theatre.

“Galaxy Theatres is always working to provide the best movie-going experience and Dolby Atmos helps us do that. The system allows sound to come from anywhere which draws audiences into the story and makes you feel as if you’re in middle of the action like never before,” said Rafe Cohen, president of Galaxy Theatres. “It really is terrific.”

Ryan T - Blind Ski ClinicOur VP of Compliance, Ryan Toland, recently volunteered at the Convair Water Ski Club, Blind Ski Clinic in San Diego.  They provide the blind with an opportunity to participate in the fun and exhilarating sport of water skiing!

The Blind Ski program is currently celebrating 50 years of serving the community.  It started in 1963 by Santo Lo Presto, a decorated World War II hero. The mission of Blind Ski is to make sure that those without sight can still enjoy water sports and the thrill of the outdoors.  This program is always in need of volunteers to assist blind participants with getting into their gear, or serving lunch after events.  So if you're looking to give back, follow Ryan Toland’s example and lend a hand to Blind Ski!

The 10th Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival proved once again to be one of the most popular events at the Cannery Casino!  Ironing Board Sam greeted the crowd as they found their seats and got settled for a great night of Blues, Brews & BBQ.  Seaton & Co., Booker T., John Lee Hooker Jr., and Kelly Sheehan continued to entertain the crowd with their awesome silky smooth sounds. There was a great selection of brews, including Magic Hat’s #9, Wyder’s Berry Burst Cider, Sierra Nevada’s Kellerweis, Pyramid’s Hefeweizen, Fat Tire’s Rolle Bolle, and many more.

Here is a photo recap of the night:
